We have consumed lots of delicious cake! Sadly, the last one has now finished until last year but we have thoroughly enjoyed our Thursday afternoons.
We held our quarterly ‘Resident’s and relatives meeting.’ Thank you to everyone who took the time to attend and for your input. Meeting minutes will be given with the monthly reports.
Pub lunches have continued and there is a new menu offering even ore choices of yummy meals. Pub lunches are as popular as ever and very well attended.
Jasmine from G-Fitness has been to Elmfield to do her exercise class within the home. This is a popular event and Jasmine is wonderful with our residents.
The amazing Graham Broad came to Elmfield to entertain our residents. He is very popular and sang a collection of ‘golden oldies.’ He had people singing along, dancing and having a great time.
Our visiting library is proving more popular which is a relief as the volunteers were thinking of stopping coming to Elmfield due to lack of interest. We have requested talking books to do audio story sessions as a group.
We had our first fashion show and clothes sale this month which was hugely popular. Many residents treated themselves to new attire and several residents reported that it felt very liberating to be able to choose their own clothing without the struggles of getting to and from the shops. They will be back each year in June and December to showcase their spring/ summer and autumn/ winter collections of clothing. There was very positive feedback from residents and relatives and many purchases were made.
Eye Concern opticians performed eye tests on the majority of our residents. They will contact relatives directly with updates about changes, recommendations and amended prescriptions.
